Day 1: After a lovely lie in a Tim’s house we only had to hit the road at 6.40am. Smooth driving all the way meant we arrived at the Bristol Brew 2024 in high spirits ready to rumble. This was dampened by having to launch which meant wet boots (but only for the helms).
We came out the blocks all gun’s blazing winning the first two races. After an oopsie in race 3 from Blake followed by a dodgy umpire call and then a bigger oopsie from Blake we had to accept a close defeat. However, we were unphased and went on to win the remaining 4 races finishing the day with 6 from 7. Hopefully another strong day tomorrow and we can contest for the overall win.
Day 2: Following a big social on Saturday evening we were blessed with a lie in until 8.15am. We made our way to the club and were thrilled to learn we weren’t launching. Gold fleet racing on day two meant only hard races all day. Our first three races were tough defeats with winning combinations up until the final beat to the finish. A couple of small errors cost us the three wins, but we then got a deserved win, finishing with a 1, 2, 3. A tough final race against Rutland Raiders meant we finished the Bristol Brew 2024 in 5th place (we think).
