Cambridge Bow to Oxford in 2022 BUSA Quarter Finals – April 2022

Oxford defeated Cambridge to reach the semi finals of the 2022 BUSA team racing championships held at Chew Valley Lake SC 18-20 April 2022. Exeter won, with Southampton 2nd, and Durham 3rd. Cambridge Pink finished 12th and Orange, who slipped into the finals by being on the possibles list and being able to raise a team when a northern qualifier dropped out, finished a very creditable 25th.

A light, patchy, and variable wind provided testing conditions for the race officials and 28 finalists on the first two days of the competition. One or two 180 degree wind shifts provided some additional excitement for those racing at the time. There was a little more wind on the final day, but it was very much a light-weather championships.

Congratulations to Bristol on running an excellent event, and a big thank-you to umpires, race officials, and all who helped – and to Chew Valley Lake SC for making their facilities available. A detailed report is available on the BUSA website.
