Exeter continued their dominance of university team racing with a 2-0 victory over Bristol in the final of the Oxford Top Gun held on 12/13 February 2022 at Farmoor. Newcomers Newcastle captured the Bronze on the basis of their round robin results. Full results are listed below the photo gallery.
Strong winds provided exciting sailing for the 8 teams competing- as well as a certain amount of capsize practice. Good organisation meant that each team sailed at least 16 races over the weekend, with most sailing 17 races. Seamanship rather than clever team racing was the order of the day.
A big thanks you to Ollie Neville, plus all his helpers and umpires who made a first-class event possible – and to Oxford SC for making their excellent facilities available.
